Aneesh P Tarun

Aneesh Pradyumna Tarun is a first year Master of Science student in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at Georgia Tech’s School of Interactive Computing. Aneesh has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Computer Science from the Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum, India. He has also worked full-time in the software industry for two years in System Software development for Enterprise Servers.

To pursue his interest in the human aspects of technology, he has embarked upon the HCI (Master’s) program at Georgia Tech beginning Fall 2008. His interest in the emerging field of Augmented Reality (AR) has led him to work at the Augmented Environments Lab under Prof. Blair MacIntyre. Presently, he is working on enhancing the custom client, developed at AEL, for the virtual world of Second Life. This client, also known as AR Second Life, adds AR authoring capabilities to the existing client. Once released, the client will allow users to collaborate and create AR performances in Second Life using a variety of cameras and tracking technologies.

On the lighter side, he is actively exploring technology trivia and the history of technology. His interest has led him to participate and organize various quzzies with such themes and he’d be glad to tell you a strange trivia or two when you meet him. He is also a fledgling poet with many of his poems under the Creative Commons License. He is gathering enough experiences in the lab to express his views on Augmented Reality in the form of geeky poetry!

  1. Hi Aneesh,
    We need help in compiling, and deploying the ARToolkit-S60.

    We are trying to build it using Carbide.C++, but are facing too many compilation errors.

    Please help.

  2. Please provide us with your valuable suggestions on how to compile the application for the emulator/device

    1) We have downloaded the ARToolkitPlus-S60 appllication from the http://www.augmentedenvironments.org/lab/research/tools/artoolkitplus-s60/ following location.

    2) We are facing difficulties in compiling this application for the emulator/device environment.
    Our Environment details.
    a) Installed the S60 SDK 3
    b) Installed the carbide IDE
    c) Installed the C/C++ plugins
    d) Installed the OpenGL_ES_1 plugin for S60

    Regards,
    Senthil

  3. Aneesh was not involved in this project; the students who were are either no longer working with the lab, or have moved on to other things. We posted this as a service to the community, to allow people to get started, but we have no people or resources to provide support. I’m sorry, and good luck.
